Legacy Ridge Golf Invitational

Monday, March 25, 2013

Despite sub "par" temperatures, the Caddo Mills Golf Teams weathered the challenges and rolled improving scores at the Legacy Ridge Golf Invitational in Bonham, Texas.   Despite a tee off temperature of 33 degrees with a wind chill of 28 degrees, our top golfers lead the field throughout the day.    Mitchell King won first place medalist for the 3rd time this season scoring an 81.  McKlane Bobbitt finished 7th with an 89.  The boys team improved to a 4th place finish losing the 3rd place spot to district opponent Farmersville by 1 stroke. The golf team will take a 1 week hiatus to complete state testing next week.  Meanwhile they will practice for the District 12AA tourney on Monday April 8th at Oak Hollow Golf Club in McKinney, Texas.

The girls golf team was left short handed due to academic obligations that forced members to stay at school.  The 3 ladies that did compete all saw improved scores compared to their first tournament. Ashley Hudson, Jordan Mize, and Mary Ratcliff endured the chilling weather to complete the course accordingly.

Lake Fork Golf Tournament

Wednesday, March 5, 2013

The Caddo Mills Boys and Girls Golf Teams competed in the Lake Fork Golf Tournament against a large field that included teams from 18 different area schools.  Mitchell King had another excellent round that led all participants in the tournament.  He took home first place honors as a medalist with a score of 78 on a 72 Par Course.  This makes two champion finishes for Mitchell thus far this season.

The Caddo Mills Girls Golf Team competed in its first tournament.  The members included 4 sophomore girls:  Hannah Treece, Madison Wilcox, Ashley Hudson, and Jordan Mize.  For these four girls, this was the first competitive round of golf in their young careers.  They did an excellent job and played the game with honesty and integrity, which will serve them well when we get to the district tournament.  Congratulations ladies.

Webb Hill Invitational

Webb Hill Golf Invitational

Monday, March 18, 2013

The Caddo Mills Boys and Girls Golf Teams competed in the Webb Hill Invitational on Monday.  The difficult layout of this course and the overbooking/scheduling of the tournament created a more than challenging atmosphere for our team.   Top Caddo Mills golfers Mitchell King and McKlane Bobbitt roled the teams best scores, but they were higher than average due to the extremely slow play that had 3 to 4 groups backed up at various tee boxes throughout the day.  Other members of the golf teams saw improvements on their score cards despite the difficult tournament conditions.  Kyle Thompson and Josh Kilmer improved their scores by more than 10 strokes.

The girls golf team was left short handed due to academic obligations that forced members to stay at school.  The 3 ladies that did compete all saw improved scores compared to their first tournament.  Hannah Treece, Jordan Mize, and Madison Wilcox all improved their round by 10+ strokes a piece.  Way to go ladies!!
